Alexandra Carrol

Dance Instructor

Alexandra was born in England in 1975 and raised in Portugal, she started dancing when she was three years old. At the age of nine she was accepted at Elmhurst Ballet school in London where she stayed till she was 18.

Alexandra became fully trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Musical Theater The last two years of her education at Elmhurst she had lead roles in Sound of Music and Pall Joe which gave her the confidence to Audition for Royal Caribbean Cruse lines.

Leaving England behind, Alexandra performed in numerous musical revues and continued her career until Little Liam arrived . Being in the entertainment industry requires a lot of time away from home and so Alexandra put her carrier on hold. Upon her arrival on Amelia Island she decided to start a music program called Wiggle Worms out of Amelia Island Montessori school. It became so popular that she wanted to offer more, so after months of learning and licensing Alexandra became a Kindermusik educator as well as the founder of KinderStudios.
Meridith Burkhart

Dance Instructer

With a lifetime of dance influences from ballet to tap and from contemporary to street dance, Meridith Burkhart brings a broad perspective to the classroom. Meridith's professional experiences includes numerous industrial shows,

cruise lines and musical theater. Her eclectic resume equals 20+ years both professional dance and teaching experience. Meridith joins us after she danced with a local dance studios for the past four years, and we are excited to welcome her back to Kinderstudios. She currently resides on Amelia Island with her husband and three children.
Jennifer Johnston

Dance Instructer

Jennifer Johnston began her dance training at NancyDance Studio in Neptune Beach, Florida, where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern, musical theatre, and was in the competition and performing company. Jennifer also grew up performing in musical theatre, with such credits as Little Shop of Horrors, Grease, and the First Coast Nutcracker.

She attended Santa Fe Community

College and the University of Florida, where she danced and performed with the Dance Theatre of Santa Fe, and Sound Stage, UF's student percussive dance group. She performed for over 60,000 people in the "Gator Growl," the largest student-run pep rally in the world.

She won a scholarship to SFCC's annual Summer Dance Intensive, where she studied with Brian Brooks, Antolino Alvarez, Alberto Alonso, Shawn Black, Tari Kendall, and Alora Haynes. She has taken master classes from Mia Michaels, Darrin Henson, Joe Lanteri, Suzi Taylor, Brenda Bufalino, Gil Stroming, and David Howard.

Jennifer has also been active in local theatre, with recent performances including Amelia Community Theatre's production of Cabaret, and Alhambra Theatre and Dining's Seven Brides For Seven Brothers. Jennifer currently teaches tap and jazz at KinderStudios, and is the owner and director of Dance Trance Amelia Island.
Sarah Sandall

Dance Instructer

Sarah Sandall was born and raised in Ann Arbor MI where she started dancing at age 4. At 10 she began her training with Wendi

Debois and in 1995 was one of the founding dancers for the Youth Dance Theater of Michigan.

Sarah started teaching dance in 2001. She's been teaching at Kinderstudios since 2007 and is very active in the dance and theater community on Amelia Island.
Carey Dresser

Classical Ballet

Carey Dresser trained as classical ballet dancer at Alabama School of Fine Arts, North Carolina School of Performing Arts and George Balanchine’s School of American Ballet at Julliard in NYC.

He completed his apprenticeship with The Birmingham Ballet and later joined the company. He then danced with The Ohio Ballet before becoming the youngest dancer at The Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center at 19 years old.

Carey danced as a principal dancer and guest artist with many companies including The Manhattan Ballet, The Higaki Ballet in Kyoto, Japan, The Florida Ballet in Jacksonville, Southern Ballet Theatre in Orlando, The State of Alabama Ballet in Birmingham and The Universal Ballet in Seoul, Korea. He has danced the principal roles in ballets such as Swan Lake, The Nutcraker, La Fil Mal Gardee, Allegro Brilliant, Coppelia and his favorite pas de duex “Belong” by Norbert Vesak.

He has traveled the world dancing on stages in France, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Greece, Japan, China, Korea, Hong Kong and Canada. He was a principal dancer and dance captain for “The Best of Broadway” on the USS Song of Norway traveling through the Caribbean.

When Carey retired from dancing he moved from Seoul, Korea to Waycross, GA where he owned and operated his own dance studio called "Backstage Studios" from 1990 - 1994.  For the first time ever in Waycross he presented the full length "Nutcracker" in conjunction with The Florida Ballet Company.  His studio offered ballet, tap and jazz and often brought in guest artists and teachers. 

His students learned and performed many ballets including the classic "Peter and the Wolf". Carey was a child actor before dancing and after retiring from a professional ballet career become heavily involved in community theatre as actor, dancer, choreographer and director.

He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Amelia Community Theatre and is directing and choreographing their February 2011 production of “Cabaret”. Carey is a Realtor® with Prudential Chaplin Williams Realty here on Amelia Island.
Jennifer Macarthy

Dance Instructer

Jennifer began her love for dancing after high school, a bit late, but better late than never! Her dancing began (not counting the ballet classes as a

child) in Ocala taking various hip hop and jazz classes for a year than taking special guest classes from professionals from New York and Chicago.

This persuaded her to move on to college, where she graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre. During her four years at Florida State she performed in multiple performances including “Beehive”, “Damn Yankees”, “School House Rock”, “Amadeus” and many others.

She also gained acting experience for Florida States Film School every season with eight undergraduate films and two thesis graduate films, one including a short mini film for Coca-Cola called “First Pop”.

Jennifer also became certified in stage combat, single-sword, and staff from the renowned teacher Paul Steger and trained in voice classes from professionals such as Susan Orrick and Debra Hale. During these many years she also worked for Arthur Murray and Fred Astaire teaching ballroom including smooth and rhythm, and performing in multiple teachers demonstrations and traveling the pan handle of Florida with Fred Astaire dancing in various showcases.

Jennifer moved to Jacksonville after graduation and continued to dance starting with teaching ballroom at Bean’s School of Dance then moved on to dance with FSCJ’s Danceworks for two years and various ballroom studios in Jacksonville, Fl. Jennifer continues her love for dance and drama today, and was recently seen performing in “Cabaret” at Amelia Islands Community Theatre.
